January 28, 2014

Christie Coplen, president of Versicor GoVersicor.com, an electronics hardware and software development company, recently spoke at the INFORUM Birmingham Affinity Group on January 16, 2014, a professional organization focused on advancing women’s careers with strategic networking opportunities. Christie spoke about “Taking Big Risk as a Woman Through Career Changes and Starting Your Own Company.”

Christie shared her experience as a female leader and entrepreneur in progressive management and product development roles. Coplen’s presentation reviewed the challenges faced in leadership roles as women and offered solutions to overcoming gender-stereotypes in order to take risks that get results. Her expertise in mechanical engineering and business acumen provided audiences with a narrative experience that was both relatable and inspiring.

“It was an honor to share my experiences with so many accomplished women” says President Christie Coplen.

This event is one of several speaking opportunities Coplen has participated in. In the past, Coplen spoke at MichBio (http://www.michbio.org/) on the topic of emerging hardware and software platforms for medical devices. Under her leadership, the company continues to break down the barriers to healthcare innovation and enable new products to enter the market.
